Comptroller and Auditor General of India Girish Chandra Murmu has been reelected as the external auditor of the World Health Organization (WHO) for a four-year term from 2024 to 2027.

New Delhi: Comptroller and Auditor General of India Girish Chandra Murmu has been reelected as the external auditor of the World Health Organization (WHO) for a four-year term from 2024 to 2027. CAG is already holding this position in WHO for a four-year term from 2019 to 2023. "The present election was held on May 29, 2023 in the 76th World Health Assembly in Geneva, where the CAG of India was reelected with an overwhelming majority (114 out of 156 votes) in the first round of voting itself," the CAG said in a statement. CAG's appointment is a recognition of its standing among the international community as well as its professionalism, high standards, global audit experience and strong national credentials, it added.
MG Gloster gets new blackstorm edition
New Delhi: MG Motor India on Monday said it has introduced a new edition of its premium sports utility vehicle Gloster with the price starting at Rs 40.29 lakh (ex-showroom). Medanta net up 5-fold in Q4
New Delhi: Healthcare provider Global Health (Medanta) on Monday said its net profit surged over five fold to Rs 101 crore in the fourth quarter ended on March 31, 2023, aided by increase in bed capacity and higher in-patient footfalls. The company had reported a net profit of Rs 17.5 crore in the January-March quarter of 2021-22 fiscal. Revenue in the reporting quarter rose 37 per cent year-on-year to Rs 732 crore, the company said in a statement. For the financial year ended on March 31, 2023, Medanta posted a net profit of Rs 326 crore as against Rs 196 crore in FY22. Revenue rose to Rs 2,759 crore in the last fiscal as against Rs 2,206 crore in 2021-22 fiscal.
SBI raises $750 mn via bonds
New Delhi: SBI, the country's largest public sector lender, on Monday raised $750 million under its $10 billion Global Medium Note programme to fund its overseas business growth. The fund was raised at INX's Global Securities Market (GSM), GIFT International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) at Gandhinagar from global investors. The bonds were issued through SBI's London Branch to fund offshore business growth and were priced competitively. This demonstrates strong investor confidence in the country's largest bank and paves the way for a strong pipeline of foreign currency bond issuances this year, it said. Commenting on the listing, SBI chairman Dinesh Khara said the success of the issue highlights the strong investor base SBI has created for itself in the offshore capital markets.
